Fort Scott High School
Class of 1957
50th Anniversary Yearbook Questionnaire
Dear Classmates:
When we met in 2005 for the all-class reunion, we made tentative plans to have a 50th anniversary reunion. The High School Homecoming is on a Thursday in October, so we may schedule our reunion a different weekend. Stay tuned.
We do not have an exact date, but it will probably be late October 2007. We are moving ahead with plans to create a 50th Anniversary Yearbook. Classmates who have begun this task include Robert Bruce, Bill Maguire, Ernie Lee, Linda Scott, Leon Sinn and Kathy (Kalm) Doerfler.
If you have seen the books of the classes of 1952 and 1955, you know that the format varied somewhat, but included several common elements. We will have a page dedicated to each class member, showing our senior pictures and (hopefully) a photo of how we look now. Classmates who didn’t graduate in 1957 will be listed in back.
The computer classes at Fort Scott Community College are doing our yearbook for us as a class project. This means that the final edition will be posted on the High School Web site for everyone to see and read. We will also print hard copies for as many people who want them, which will probably be most of us. Having the FSCC help us will also save money.
We will print the group photos from our previous reunions, and we would like you to submit as many photos of you and our classmates as you like, especially ones that show us in candid situations, such as classes, dances, sledding, working, loving, etc.
Please have your photos scanned onto CD. If you don’t have that capacity yourself, you can take them to a Wal-Mart and they will scan up to 120 photos onto a CD for $2.82. If neither of these options is available to you, send them to Kathy (Kalm) Doerfler, and include a self-addressed stamped envelope for their return. She will have them scanned and return the originals. Everything has to be digital for the FSCC.
Don’t forget to include captions and IDs for people in each photo.
We prefer Black & White for the head shots, and for the page facing your biography. We will print all those in B&W. We will use color shots farther back in the book
We are asking each of you to send $35 to Bill Maguire (address below). Any money left over after printing will be used to defray yearbook committee expenses (or beer).
Please return the questionnaires, photos and captions to Kathy.
We would like all this material by October 31, 2006. Thank you for your help, and you can count on one of us bugging you as we approach that deadline.
Warm regards,
Robert Bruce
