Fort
Scott Middle School serves all district students in grades six, seven,
and eight. A teacher-advisor program helps students make the transition
from elementary school. Each student is assigned a teacher as an advisor
and works with that same teacher throughout the three years of middle
school.
A
core curriculum of reading, language arts, social studies, math and science
is emphasized through a teaming approach. Physical education courses are
required at each grade level. Life skill classes offered are:

75% of the student body participate in intramurals. Fort Scott Middle
School helps each student become a winner.
Mini-course
programs are offered two days per week. PRIDE and Adopt-A-Highway are
two programs involving students in community projects.
