Late this afternoon, Wednesday, October 28, Eugene Ware Elementary was notified by the Southeast Kansas Multi-County Health Department that a staff member at Eugene Ware Elementary had tested positive for COVID-19.  As a result of the positive COVID-19 staff member, the Eugene Ware administrators and nurse performed close contact tracing this evening and contacted staff members and the families of those students who were deemed close contacts. Any students and their families or staff who may have been impacted were notified. If a parent or staff member was not notified, it was determined that the student or staff member was not impacted by this situation and any additional notification is not necessary.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s building.
