Starting Friday, November 18, 2021, USD 234 will begin to provide COVID Antigen testing for students and staff who are high-risk close contacts. These tests will only be administered with parent/guardian consent. To stay in school as a high-risk close contact, students will need to be tested daily during their 10-day quarantine period and if their test is negative, they will be able to attend school, but will be required to wear a mask while at school. According to the health department, high-risk close contacts will need to be in quarantine outside of the school day.
The links below provide more information about the testing. The testing will be provided at the back of the middle school starting at 7:00 AM during school days. This is a drive-up testing site and students will remain in their vehicle and you will call the number provided on the signage to have the testing assistant come administer the test. The results take around 15 minutes and a text notification will be provided to parent/guardians when the results are completed. We are asking that after the student has been tested that you go and park in the middle school parking lot while you wait for results. Once you receive your notification, we ask that you come back to the testing site to receive an admit slip for your child to present to their building office.
If you have questions, you can contact the testing assistant, Kaylee Button, for more information at (620) 223-8940 between 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM.
