Dear Parents/Guardians of USD 234 students,
The USD 234 Board of Education approved a “Return to School” plan for re-opening our schools for the 2020-21 school year. The “Return to School” document may be amended in the next few days pending guidance from the Southeast Kansas Multi-County Health Department. However, I wanted to give you the plan as I know you have questions about what school will look like this year.
The “Return to School” document can be viewed on our district website and in the PDF attachment in this email. This document describes guidance protocol for many different areas of school operations. Please know that school will look different, but to open our schools and keep people safe we need to follow the guidance document. Some of you may not agree with the protocols that have been put in place, but they will be needed/required if schools are to open and be in session. Please be flexible and understanding as we navigate through this new situation. Most would agree that our students need to be back in school. For this to happen, we will need to follow the guidance of this document. Hopefully, this will not be a long-term situation. For now, we would ask that you remain positive for your children and make the best of the current conditions that we must operate under to safely have your student back in the school building.
If you have questions please contact your child's attendance building.
