Scott Kimble: High School Principal

Scott Kimble,

High School Principal

About Our Principal

Principal of Fort Scott High School, Scott Kimble, invests in two key stakeholder groups every day: teachers and students.

“I love that I get to work and have conversations with incredible students and staff members each and every day,” Mr. Kimble told us. “Our teachers are constantly pouring knowledge into students who will soon be stepping out into their own post-graduate experiences - be it college or straight to the workforce. I love seeing students develop and consider it an honor to be a part of their journey.”

Seeing students engaged in their learning and preparing for the future is Mr. Kimble’s favorite part of his job.

“Each student is a unique individual, and their success in school and life has an impact not only on the future of their own families but also the communities in which they live,” said Mr. Kimble. “That’s why investing in them is so important: they’re the future.”

Discovering opportunities for teachers to grow as leaders is also paramount to Mr. Kimble.

“It is equally important to build relationships with and invest in our teachers,” Mr. Kimble says. “Allowing teachers the opportunity to grow as educators and seek out new learning has a direct impact on student success, as well as a teacher’s overarching satisfaction within their role.”

When Mr. Kimble isn’t collaborating with teachers, students, and district leadership, you’ll find him spending time with his two daughters and enjoying the outdoors, whether on the lake fishing or in the field hunting.

Mr. Kimble -  who assumed his role as principal in 2021 - told us he loves Fort Scott for a variety of reasons: from its small-town feel to its great downtown area and the wonderful families he gets to work with. According to Mr. Kimble, the best part of his role is the opportunity it creates for him to contribute to the community he loves so much.
