Welcome - Dr. Zach Johnson

We are excited to welcome Dr. Zach Johnson to the Tiger Family as the principal at Fort Scott Middle School!

Zach comes to us from Coffeyville, KS where he served as the Assistant Principal and Activities Director at Coffeyville High School. Before becoming an administrator. Zach taught for seven years in Missouri in the areas of physical education, pre-engineering, computer science, graphic design, construction, yearbook, and manufacturing at both the middle and high school level.  Zack is bringing a wealth of teaching as well as administrative experience to our district

Zach has been a head baseball coach and has assisted in coaching both basketball and football.  He is a firm believer in the benefits of students’ participation in activities in school.

Dr. Johnson grew up in Willard, MO and then attended college in Springfield, MO at Evangel University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and his master’s degree in Educational Leadership.  He recently received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lindenwood University.

Zach and his wife, Bethany, have three children: Cole, Greyson, and Sadie.  Bethany is from Liberal, MO where she grew up on the family farm and is currently a stay-at-home mom.  She has a degree in counseling and has worked for a non-profit organization that provides counseling services for children.  Their family enjoys spending time participating in sports and outdoor activities.  Zach and Bethany love to spend quality time with their family and look forward to getting to know the people and community of Fort Scott.

When asked what excites him about coming to Fort Scott Zach stated “I am excited to be a part of a community that is passionate about their school system. I am ready to be a TIGER!  I am thankful for the opportunity to be part of the community of Fort Scott and look forward to getting connected with as many people as possible to ensure student success. Go TIGERS!”
