FSMS STUDENT BULLETIN!!! RED DAY!!!! MONDAY MENU: Breakfast: Poptart, graham snack, applesauce cup or fresh fruit, juice choice, and milk Lunch: Popcorn chicken, waffle fries, green beans, rosy applesauce, breadstick, and milk Tuesday Menu: Breakfast: Breakfast pizza, applesauce cup or fresh fruit, juice choice, and milk Lunch: Mr. Ribb, baked beans, scalloped potatoes, apple, cookie, and milk CAFETERIA EXPECTATIONS! Breakfast opens at 7:15. Maximum 8 students per table. No saving seats. Raise your hand if you need to be out of your seat. Must have permission. We will bring trash cans to you to dispose of your trash. Clean your area. Students must use the restroom next to the concession stand area during breakfast and lunch hours. AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING!!!! After school tutoring will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30. Contact your teachers with questions. ATHLETICS FOR THE WEEK!!!! Monday, December 5th Parent Meeting for Boys' Basketball - Start time 5:30 - Big Gym Tuesday, December 6th FSMS Girls' Basketball @ Frontenac (208 S Cayuga St, Frontenac, KS 66763) - Start time 5:00 - 7A only triangle Thursday, December 8th FSMS Girls' Basketball @ Chanute (400 W Main St, Chanute, KS 66720) - Start time 4:00 - Order of events: 7th grade B, 7th grade A, 8th grade B, 8th grade A. Please dismiss basketball players 2:05. Saturday, December 10th FSMS Girls' Basketball @ Parsons High School (3030 Morton Ave, Parsons, KS 67357) - Start time 8:30 AM DETENTIONS! Students have 3 days to serve their detention. If not served within the 3 days it will turn into a full day of ISS. Morning detentions can be served in Room 170. NUTCRACKER BALLET!!!! The Nutcracker field trip is currently full. If you want to be added to the waiting list, take a completed permission slip to Ms. George's room ASAP. READING CHALLENGE!!!! The library is hosting a reading challenge during the rest of November and December. You can get more details from your ELA teacher or from Ms. Homan in the library. There will be small prizes for participating and your name will be put in a drawing for larger prizes. The more books you read, the more chances you may have to win prizes. YEARBOOKS!!!! Don't forget to buy your yearbook for 2022-2023! Go to www.jostens.com/buytoday to order. Pick up a reminder note in the office to take home to parents/guardians. Get your order in before break so you aren't left without a book on delivery day. PICK UP AND DROP OFF FOR STUDENTS! Students can NOT be picked up and dropped off at the bus line south of the building. Students can be picked up and dropped off in front of the middle school.

FSMS Parents: A reminder after school tutoring will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 beginning today. Students that are interested will need to report to the library today after school for further instructions. Parents will need to make arrangements to pick up their child at 4:30 following the tutoring session.

Students that are interested will need to report to the library on Monday November 28th at 3:30 for further instructions. Parents will need to make arrangements to pick their child up at 4:30 following the tutoring session. For further questions, please contact your child's teachers.

The Fort Scott Middle School and High School Orchestras will perform a concert Thursday, October 27th at the middle school and ask that you please join them as they celebrate America. The Middle School Orchestra will open the concert at 7:00 pm with a short presentation followed by the High School Orchestra performing traditional patriotic songs and featuring “Defenders of the Nation” that includes the armed forces themes from the Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy and Army. If you are an active service member or a veteran please attend the concert and let us recognize and honor you for your service.

National School Bus Safety Week is October 17-21st and October 19th is School Transportation Appreciation Day! We appreciate our drivers and transportation department making sure our kids get to school throughout the year. Give a BIG thank you to our drivers if you see them around town this week!

FSMS Parents: October 17th and 18th is Parent/Teacher Conferences from 4:30-8:00 pm. Parents can come at any time. Grade cards will be passed out at the front door and parents are more then welcome to go to grade pods and speak with teachers and also talk to other teachers throughout the building. We can't wait to see you all.
