Tiger Families: Starting April 1, 2023 (THIS WEEK) state Medicaid agencies will begin reviews to determine whether patients are eligible to renew coverage. Most of those covered by Medicaid in Kansas are children. Watch your mail and respond quickly to requests for more information.

FSMS-Required state testing will begin next Tuesday and Wednesday for English Language Arts. Testing will occur for all 6th-8th grade students. We encourage students to get a quality night sleep the night before along with a quality breakfast.

National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. This special observance during the first week of March celebrates the national School Breakfast Program and the many ways it gives kids a great start every day.

Cheer & Dance Tryouts, 2023:
1) Cheer tryouts are March 20th & 21st, 3:45-6:00, in the aux gym.
2) Dance tryouts are March 22nd & 23rd, 3:45-6:00 in the aux gym.
MONDAY, February 27th, meeting for 9th-11th graders interested in trying out for cheer OR dance, right after school in the high school commons.
TUESDAY, February 28th, meeting for 8th graders interested in trying out for cheer OR dance, right after school in the middle school library.
THURSDAY, March 2nd, meeting for parents/guardians of 8th-11th graders interested in trying out for cheer or dance, at 5:30pm in the high school commons.
Reminder - No School on Monday, February 20th. All buildings, including the Board of Education will be closed.

FSMS Boys Basketball @ Pittsburg Community Middle School (1310 N Broadway, Pittsburg, KS 66762) - Start time 4:00. Please dismiss all basketball players at 2:35.
AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING!!!!
There will be after-school tutoring on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30. If you have questions, contact your teachers.
CAFETERIA EXPECTATIONS!
Breakfast opens at 7:15.
Maximum 8 students per table.
No saving seats.
Raise your hand if you need to be out of your seat. Must have permission.
We will bring trash cans to you to dispose of your trash. Clean your area. Students must use the restroom next to the concession stand area during breakfast and lunch hours.

If students wear their neon colors to the basketball tomorrow they will get into the game for free! Come support our boys' basketball team! GO TIGERS!
DETENTIONS!
Students have 3 days to serve their detention. If not served within the 3 days it will turn into a full day of ISS. Morning detentions can be served in Room 170.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF FOR STUDENTS!
Students can NOT be picked up and dropped off at the bus line south of the building. Students can be picked up and dropped off in front of the middle school.
Dress up days Jan. 23-27 The Week of January 23, 2023- Homecoming dress up days- Must follow all dress codes. NO HATS allowed.
Monday -- Sleep in - Wear your favorite pajamas
Tuesday -- Tacky Tourist - Dress like a tourist
Wednesday - Cold Front Heatwave -- Dress for a cold front or a heatwave (follow dress code)
Thursday - 80' or in your 80's Dress like 1980s or you are in your 80's
Friday- Tiger Pride - Wear your Tiger Gear or Red and White
