Picture Day is September 18th at Winfield Scott.
The district is using Jostens for school pictures this year and the process will be a little different. Here are some things you need to know.
- There will be no picture packets. Jostens would prefer you order online, but you can also call and order over the phone.
- You will be able to view and order pictures online a few days after picture day. Photos will ship directly to your home.
- When you create your account with Jostens, please use the email address you provided the school. If you are unable to find your students picture with your email address, please use the event code FE247323.
- Retake day is scheduled for October 26th.
- Please DO NOT wear green! Jostens green screen technology lets you choose your background after Picture Day, but it also makes green clothes disappear into the background. So please, don’t wear green on Picture Day!

Grandparents' Day Breakfast Celebration
When: Monday, September 11th
Time: 8am at Winfield Scott
Parents: A letter went home either last Thursday or will come home today in regards to the above Grandparents' Day Breakfast. Be sure that the form with the number of grandparents that plan to attend that day gets turned in as soon as possible. Students will report to their classroom just like normal and the grandparents will be allowed to enter into the school at 8am. The grandparents will be able to go directly to the student's classroom and enjoy a quick breakfast. Please be sure that they know the classroom teacher.

September 8th - Our first Popcorn Friday - Send your student with a quarter to school. This will help go towards our Elementary PTO and our Popcorn Fridays!

We have had a considerable amount of kids having accidents at school. If you put an extra set of clothes in your child's backpack that would help out greatly!

Reminder that USD 234 school lunch menus are available for viewing! The menu can be found on our website at USD234.org, using the school lunch app by Nutrislice, or by copying and pasting the following link in to your search bar: https://usd234.nutrislice.com/menu
The first PTO meeting of the year will be August 28th at 6:00 pm in the Winfield Scott Cafeteria.
Winfield Scott Pick-Up and Drop-Off Options/Instructions
West side is for drop-off of any student and pick-up for Kindergarten students and their siblings. Please pull in off of Sunset Drive and follow the drive around the playground to the west doors. Please DO NOT park and walk your students in on the west side. The goal is to keep traffic moving on the west side of the building. If you would like to walk your student to the doors please park on the North side of the building.
The north side of the building is for drop-off of any student and pick-up for 1st and 2nd grade students.
The east side of the building is for buses ONLY. Please do not pick-up or drop-off your students here.

Open House for Winfield Scott is August 16th from 5-6:30pm. You are welcome to go meet the principals that same evening and enjoy a popsicle on the east playground.
First Day of school is August 18th and school starts at 7:50am. Please be sure to check out our newsletter that has information on pick-up and drop-off times!

First grade has moved their Gunn Park field trip to Tuesday, May 16th due to the forecast for rain tomorrow. If you ordered a deli sandwich, the order has been moved to Tuesday. If your student signed up to bring a sack lunch, please plan to send that on Tuesday.

The lost and found at Winfield Scott is overflowing. We have it set up in the hallway outside of the office. If you know your student is missing something, please have them check or a parent may come in and check too. The last day to check lost and found will be May 16th.
